Damit die Metalle, die in der Asche der thermischen Behandlung zurückbleiben, ordnungsgemäß verwertet werden können, werden diese durch Aufbereitungsprozesse zurückgewonnen.
Der Anteil des Metalls aus der Nachbehandlung der Aschen lag im Bilanzjahr bei 48.773 t. Pro Einwohner entspricht dies einem Wert von 3,7 kg. Die Erfassungsmenge ist im Vergleich zum Vorjahr leicht gestiegen. Bei dem genannten Wert handelt es sich um die Metallmenge, die (rechnerisch) auf die behandelten Abfälle aus Haushalten entfällt.
